ocated on Avenida de Almeida Ribeiro, the Lok Kok Restaurant (Portuguese: Restaurante Lok Kok) was once a famous tea house in Macao, founded in 1913 by the Tea House King, Tan Kit Nam from Guangzhou.

Over a hundred years later, the Lok Kok Restaurant now has gone through a complete transformation, turning into a boutique hotel with 62 guest rooms. It is situated on one of Macao’s busiest streets. As you enter the Rua do Cunha alley, you’ll find the hotel’s entrance. This is where travelers can forget their journey fatigue and immerse themselves in the history and modernity of Macao.

The hotel’s public areas are designed in an art deco style, with natural oak, walnut, and emerald green handmade tiles adorning the walls and ceilings, accented with bronze and emerald metal strips. The design of these patterns and colors draws inspiration from the original Lok Kok Restaurant’s dining spaces with modern and minimalistic touch.

We also studied the decorative tiles of the old building and used the windows of the original Lok Kok Restaurant as inspiration to design the floor pattern at lounge area, combining historical elements with a modern style.

Despite the compact floor plan, each room maintains a sense of delicacy. The rooms feature light gray walls, with green paint on one side of the bed to echo the design of the public spaces. Combined with natural oak, this creates a comfortable and relaxed atmosphere to help guests to relax in the room.
